Tonight was our first game at the new Busch Stadium, and a good one it was.  I was able to purchase the three tickets about a month ago when the Cardinals said they were further along in construction than planned and released a decent chunk of tickets.

So I was able to hop online on a designated day and make a purchase.  The seats were in left field, in what’s called the Casino Queen Party Porch.  They weren’t cheap seats, but they also weren’t terribly expensive either.  I bought 3, for myself, Ana, and my dad.

We arrived at the new park over an hour before the game so we could walk around and check some of it out beforehand.  The place is amazing (I’ll save that for another post) to say the least.  Very well done.

During some of our picture taking, Ana and I overheard an user explaining that ____ Porch wasn’t completed yet.  Ana turned and asked if that’s where our seats were supposed to be, but I said that I thought there were more than one section referred to as Porch.  So we walked up (well, took an escalator) to the level we needed, and asked another usher how to get to the seats.  We got a very confused look from her, and she told us that that portion wasn’t even open yet.  I think she was more than a little curious about how we obtained the tickets.  She then directed us to the “Ticket Adjustment” window…

At the Adjustment Window, the lady was very nice, but again gave a very confused look when I handed her the tickets and explained the situation to her. She took the tickets and slowly left her booth.  About 5 minutes later she came back and, without saying anything, handed us 3 tickets.  They were tickets to the Redbird Club, which are fantastic seats that are worth quite a bit more than what we paid for our originals.  The seats were great, the food area was unlike anything I’ve ever seen at a ballbark, and the weather was fabulous.

All in all, it was a perfect evening of baseball.  Couldn’t have asked for anything more!
