I recently watched a great video by Tomislav Tomasic where he made this ring box, and I just had to give it a try.

I had a piece of maple sitting around which I didn’t mind losing if things went south, and the results were great. The fit is perfect, closing with a satisfying snap – and staying there.

I finished it with 3 coats of natural tung oil (50/50 mix with citrus solvent).
