Ramblings of a geek with a few hobbies…

  • *YAWN*

I guess I shouldn’t have gone to bed at midnight, that would have made the 2am thunderstorm wakeup a lot easier to cope with.   That was one very strong storm, at times sounding like it was going to blow the windows out of the house.

Bonus points though, David didn’t wake up at all during it.

It’s going to be a looooong day.

  • Story Time

David enjoyed some Dr. Seuss before his nap today.

  • As the storms passed

Great view of the west as the storms were leaving the area.

  • You can file this under Oops.

At work this morning we came across Adobe’s accidental moratorium on Trial Downloads:

Wow, pretty drastic.  The FAQ reads:

During the month of June 2008, certain product trials that are launched for the first time (regardless of when they were installed) will function for only one day instead of 30 days, due to an error in a line of code that counts down the remaining days in a trial

We were wondering how quickly that guy got fired 🙂  My money is on it being an intern’s fault…

  • Rain

It has been raining most of the weekend, which sucks for outdoor activities but is great for gardens!

This picture reminds me that I need to get the landscaping rock ordered and dump off at our house.

The rain is also treating Ana’s azaleas well:

And since you were kind enough to read this far, here’s David:

  • Visiting

David got to visit (have staring contests with, whatever you want to call it!) with a few relatives he doesn’t get to see too often.  Here he’s studying my grandpa.

  • Fun on the Farm!

David says “Thanks Aunt Kate, this is great!”

  • Gas Prices, Twitter, and a Frog

With gas prices continuing to rise, you may be part of the millions of people starting to really watch and track their fuel usage.  Or trying to, at least.   It’s pretty boring and easy to forget to do, isn’t it?

    No longer!

A good friend of mine (college classmate, best man, the list goes on) David Rasch and co. have started a service called FuelFrog to help, and make it fun too.

All you need to do is signup for a FREE FuelFrog account and link it to your Twitter username. Whenever you fill up with gas, send a tweet to @fuelfrog with your miles, price, and gallons, and FuelFrog will add that to your history.  Over time you can login and see the mileage trends.  And that’s just the beginning, more features are on the way – so join the masses and sign up!

  • Pets

We’ve found recently that David just lights up whenever he touches one of our cats, Ana’s parents’ cats, our my parents’ dog.  It’s really fun to watch, he loves it.

    Doggy!
